Installing euro-system Couwenbergs’ pedestals: fast, easy, cost-effective

Continuous exposure of any floor covering to the sun's rays, water and frost can lead in the case of conventionally laid floor coverings to cracks, leaks and sagging. Above all it's the firm bond between terrace decking and underlying foundation layers that causes the problems. Combined with weed growth in gaps between slabs, this makes high follow-up and repair costs inevitable.

Installation using euro-system Couwenbergs' pedestals is now not only easier and after-effect freebut also saves you money. Loose-lay pedestal installation is suitable both for permanent fixtures on, for example, terraces, balconies or
flat roofs and for temporary applications, such as exhibition booth construction. The cost savings that can be achieved using our slab supports/pedestals are around 35 percent compared with conventional installation methods!

Our slab supports and pedestals are installed at the point where the gaps between slabs intersectand the spacers guarantee a uniform gap pattern. The gaps remain open
and water can thus run of funderneath the paving.

Where dry, pinpoint installation methods are applied, the use of pedestals can provide optimum separation of slabs or timber decking and damp subflooring. Separating the decking from the foundations also enables stone slabs, timber components or metal grating to be replaced at a laterstage, allows cabling or pipework to be laid beneath terraces, under-floor spaces to be cleaned, local seals to be checked, or even flooring to be re-laid easily. The pedestals are reusable.

Pre-determined breaking points make it easier for you to halve and quarter slab supports/pedestals. As a result there is no waste, since each subunit is reusable. Simple, non-slip stacking enables you to achieve any height that you require.

The use of shim washers also compensates for any unevenness and simplifies the precision adjustment of specific slabs, beams or metal gratings. The shim washers are fixed in place using the slab support/pedestal gap spacers.
